While selecting window treatments can be fun and exciting, it is also confusing at times.  Blinds are available in a range of styles, colours and patterns.  Don’t let your window coverings fade into the background.  Let them make a statement about your style and taste.

Rules are out when choosing colours.  You can choose bright colours, bold patterns, or keep it neutral, depending on your wall coverings, furniture and accessories.  It is a safe option to limit your palette to no more than three.

Light colours and patterns combined with other light colours will give you a soothing, relaxed look.  Darker colours and patterns against light is a dramatic statement.  Just be sure to choose colours that complement each other.  Light colours like white and cream will also make the room feel larger than it is.  Horizontal stripes add width but vertical stripes makes the room seem taller.

Consider the theme of your room.  Blues and yellows can give a Mediterranean feel, while reds and ochre give it an Asian influence.
